Overdrive eBooks on a Kindle Black & White eReader

Devices: Kindle Black and White eReaders (includes Kindle Paperwhite and Voyage)

Required: Valid Library Card, Amazon.com Account

To get started, go to http://www.live-brary.com/moredownloads from your computer and click Sign In.

This is the main screen for Live-brary.com free downloads.  Click on the various tabs to get familiar with where to find your checked out titles, holds, wish lists, settings and more.

Use the search bar or the Advanced search to find a book.  You can also browse through the Featured Collections by clicking on the Menu tab.

Once your search results populate, you will need to filter your results to Kindle Book. Limiting to Kindle Book weeds out the other formats which aren’t always compatible with the Kindle Fire.

Not all titles will be available for immediate download.  Pay attention to the icons in the upper right corner of each book.  Grayed out icons indicate the book is currently checked out.  From here you can click on the book’s title and then proceed to Place a Hold.

Select Place a Hold and enter your email address for notification when the books does become available.

When the book is available for immediate download, select Borrow.  Live-brary will then bring you to the Bookshelf tab.

Once you’ve selected Confirm & Download, your browser should take you to Amazon.com.

Choose which Kindle device you would like the book to be delivered to.

A confirmation from Amazon stating the book will be delivered should appear momentarily

The Live-brary book should now appear on your Kindle device.  If you do not see the book, synchronize your device and check your wireless connection.

RETURNING EARLY

Live-brary eBooks expire on their own within 7 or 14 days.  However, if you wish to return an item early to free up your bookshelf for additional downloads, you may return books early.  Back on Amazon.com, click on Your Account- Manage Your Content and Devices.
